To see it in better detail watch in High Quality! Sculpture is 6 1/2ft high and 6ft wide. The wood ring is made from solid walnut, with 8 holes for lifting marbles. The ring turns counter-clockwise. It is driven by a single drive roller at the bottom center. The tracks are made from 1/8″ stainless steel wire neatly TIG welded. There are 4 different tracks. The loop d’ loop track has 14 loops in a row! The spiral track has 10 spirals, with 3 marbles at a time rolling through them. The balls used are 1 3/8″ colorful glass marbles. It’s probably been asked before, but how long did that take to make?
This was so cool I almost cried when it was over….
Bet that guys the shit at roller coaster tycoon
@super8ben I use a TIG welder. To be specific a Miller Maxstar 150sth. You can solder stainless, but the joints are very weak compared to welding.
Or I use magic…lol.
I have been meaning to ask you, how do you attach the pieces? Do you hard solder it? thanks
This is sooo hackin awsome!
Wonderful machine. The whole thing is good but the lift really sets it apart. It’s slow curving motion is a great counterpoint to the controlled chaos it frames. I would really like to see some HD footage of this one so you could really see some of the detail in the track elements and how they interact.
a human sized ride like that would be cool! and id ride it!
Fascinating!
This contraption is crammed and amazing. in fact so crammed I cant see what is happening
Wow, that is amazing.
I would have never thought of a wheel lift like that. This is truly a work of art.
wow it must take years to build i seen an awesome one in orogan it was a pretty good size one to
Another really great rbs. Reminds me somewhat of a RBS in the Fracture movie that has the turning ring lift.
I would have to say…both.
Great!! do you manage to sell them? or its just for fun?!
Thanks Cornish! That’s one of the best comments I have ever received about my work. : ) Thanks for enjoying my video. The walnut ring lift was the buyers idea – good taste, eh?
Aesthetically, the best rbs I’ve seen for a very long time. This looks fantastic, the elements are exciting and varied, and the wheel lift gives it a sense of balance rarely seen in these types of sculpture. Well done.
